The call will come to your phone or Apple will send you an email with your phone number if you lose your phone.

The phone should always be connected to the Internet, perhaps Wi-Fi, as data connections may be lost in the event of a call.

If the Internet is slow or there are problems with your email provider, there may be a delay in receiving the notification.
